Mr. David Allan Loyd, age 75, of Franklin passed away August 14, 2025.

His funeral will be held Saturday August 23, 2025 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Stutts Funeral Home with Rev. Neil Awbrey officiating and remarks by Mr. Dylan Robison. Interment will follow in Glenloch Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will accept guests at Stutts Funeral Home Saturday afternoon from 2:00 – 3:00 PM prior to the service.

Mr. Loyd was born August 2, 1950 in Miami, FL to the late Jake L. Loyd and Mary Durden Loyd. He worked as a commercial construction superintendent.

He was a member of Glenloch Baptist Church. He loved to read the Bible and had a passion for leading others to the Lord. It was the jail ministry that enriched his relationship with the Lord more than anything else. He considered spreading the Word to those who need it the most to be the most fulfilling work for the Lord's Kingdom.

One of his favorite pastimes was gardening. He prided himself on having a beautiful spread of delicious vegetables each year. He operated a produce stand in Franklin for many years, where he would sell the fruit of his crop as well as produce from across Georgia. He also enjoyed fishing. Most of all he loved his family and enjoyed every moment he could spend with them.

Survivors include: his wife, Sharon Ritchie Loyd of Franklin; five children: Michele Khan Loyd and Mary Lee Loyd both of North Carolina, Clint Jason Loyd (Devin) of Prattville, AL, James Thorpe Loyd (Lynn) of Washington State, and Amber Leigh Bolan (Josh) of LaGrange; 17 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; one sister, Joan Loyd of Florida; two brothers, Jake Loyd (Holly) of Alabama and Michael Loyd (Pam) of Washington State; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Loyd, Jr.; a grandson, Brandon James Loyd; and a brother, Billy Lee Richardson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Wellstar West Georgia Hospice in his name.
