Sheila Ann Vaughn, age 56, of Roopville, Georgia, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 5, 2025.

Her funeral will be held Saturday August 9th, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Stutts Funeral Home with Rev. Wally Williamson, Rev. David Huckeba, and Rev. Donald Spradlin officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will accept guests at Stutts Funeral Home Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM.

Sheila was born on April 5, 1969, in Carrollton, Georgia, to the late James Albert Huddleston and Mary Jane (J.W.) Payne. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Sheila was known for her kind heart and her unwavering compassion. She never met a stranger and cared deeply for others, often putting their needs ahead of her own, even while battling illness herself.

Sheila was a true warrior, courageously facing an eight-year battle with cancer with grace, strength, and unshakable faith. During her journey, she found purpose in serving others through a chemo basket ministry, lovingly preparing care packages to support and encourage those newly diagnosed with cancer. Her life was a reflection of the love of Christ, and those who knew her could feel His light in the way she lived. We take comfort in knowing that she is now resting in the arms of Jesus.

Sheila is survived by her devoted husband, Charles Davis Vaughn of Roopville; her mother, Mary Jane (J.W.) Payne; her son, Timothy Adam (Alicia) Freed; her beloved grandchildren, Sawyer and AnnaBella Freed; one brother, Dan (Ann) Huddleston; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Albert Huddleston; her brothers, Charles Ray Huddleston and Calvin Rex Huddleston; and her son, Alex Freed.

She leaves behind many dear friends and extended family who will miss her greatly. Sheila's legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
