Mrs. Sara Parker Merrill, age 74, of Centralhatchee passed away August 21, 2025.

Her funeral will be held Sunday August 24, 2025 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Stutts Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Bingham officiating. Interment will follow in Centralhatchee First Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will accept guests at Stutts Funeral Home Sunday afternoon from 1:30 – 3:00 PM prior to the service.

Mrs. Merrill was born September 27, 1950 in Coweta County to the late Lonza Parker and Florence Smith Parker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Merlin Merrill. She was a member of Centralhatchee First Baptist Church.

Family was at the center of her life. After she retired from Custom Fabric, she devoted herself to caring for her grandchildren, who were the lights of her life. She loved to cook for the family, and it was said that her pot roast and her chicken and dressing were always a hit. She also made the most delicious peanut butter pies. In her later years her most precious moments were family cookouts in the backyard, as the family grew with the addition of her beloved great-grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoyed watching TV. When Perry Mason was on everyone knew it was quiet time.

Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Steven Barrett of Centralhatchee; two grandchildren, Marie Barrett (Jon McKee) and Jonathan Barrett (Harley); two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth McKee and Clementine Barrett; and a number of other relatives and friends.
