David passed away on January 12, 2024 at the age of 75. He was a resident of White Plains, NY and Palm Springs, FL. Born in New York City, David was the son of William F. and Virginia (O'Neill) Luddy. He grew up in Harrison, NY and White Plains, NY, graduating from White Plains High School in 1966 and later received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Fordham University.
He worked for 28 years at the Westchester County Bureau of Purchase and Supply retiring as the Deputy Purchasing Agent in 2000.
As a young man he was an outstanding golfer and later in life enjoyed fishing, horse racing and pool. He enjoyed watching nature documentaries and was an accomplished bird watcher. He especially loved cats having rescued as many as he could. He had a brilliant mind and impressed his family and friends with his knowledge and quick wit.
David is survived by his brothers Brian (Linda) Luddy of White Plains, James (Elisvania) Luddy of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and his sister Jeanne (Kurt) VanDuzer of Tunkhannock, PA. His brother Thomas Luddy (Monique) and infant brother William predeceased him. He also leaves behind nieces Deirdre Pino, Megan Archer, Caroline VanDuzer and nephews Will VanDuzer and Stevens VanDuzer.
David will be dearly missed by his family and friends and will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
