David Lee Marshall, our dear longtime friend, passed away February 2,2025 at Banner Thunderbird Hospital in Phoenix. He was 71. Dave was born May 4,1953 in Detroit and was the only child of John and Gladys Marshall, who passed away many years ago in Phoenix. One of the many things that made Dave special was his strong work ethic. At five years old, he began working with his dad at their service station in downtown Detroit. When he was eight, the family moved to Phoenix, where Dave continued to work with his dad as the business expanded to several service station locations. He excelled in every sport at Washington High School in Phoenix, where he graduated in 1971.He particularly loved football and named his dog Butkus after the Chicago Bears football legend. After his father passed away, Dave went into the petroleum industry and worked in Houston, but soon came back to Phoenix to be with his mother. Dave was a party man and great fun. He had a huge heart an streak of mischief. He was quick to laugh and people everywhere gravitated to his outgoing personality. He was a natural leader. You knew you had a true friend in Dave. He lived every second of his life with direction and passion. Dave was generous, kind and always there to help his friends We were lucky enough to have known and loved Dave. He was a strong man in his own beliefs and self-worth and he will be missed. Celebration of life wilI be at a later date.

My first meeting with David was 1986. I married his Cousin Bob in 1984 and our daughter Lea gravitated to her Cousin Davis which she loving called him. He had tea parties in her little tyle playhouse (our big teddy bear of a Cousin) enjoyed every minute. We had Family reunions, special events and funerals. Time goes by so quickly and we tend to regret when it is to late. Heaven gained a beautiful soul. Rest easy Cousin Davis. Edie Kopsitz
