David Lane McPherson, 63, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away February 2, 2024, at his home. Many in Piggott knew him as Mac.
David was born on May 16, 1960, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was the son of Clifford and Jeanne McPherson of Pulaski County, Arkansas. David lived the first half of his life in the north Pulaski County area of Arkansas.
David was united in marriage to Jennifer (Henderson) McPherson on April 24, 1993, in Lonoke, Arkansas.
He is preceded in death by his father, Clifford McPherson and his oldest son, Rusty McPherson.
David is survived by his wife, Jennifer McPherson of Piggott; his sons, Matthew McPherson (Lauren) of Paragould and Brady McPherson of Piggott; three grandchildren, Hazle Nicole McPherson, Landon Tucker, and Addison Cowan; his mother, Jeanne McPherson of Pulaski County; two brothers, Wayne McPherson (Mona) of Palm Coast, Florida, and Mark McPherson (Kim) of Pulaski County; brother-in-law, Jody Henderson (Joanna) of Piggott; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
David retired from the Arkansas Department of Transportation where he worked as a heavy equipment mechanic. He proudly served the Arkansas National Guard for 22 years. He was extremely proud to be a veteran and of his country. He was a member of the Piggott post of the American Legion.
David loved people. He never met a stranger and could talk to anyone. He had a smile for everyone. He loved working on projects in his shop and around the yard. He especially loved traveling with his wife and their RV. Planning each trip was his favorite indoor activity.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., February 8, 2024, at Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas. A celebration of David's life will be Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Reverend Patti Butler officiating. A private internment will be held at a later date.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Piggott's American Legion Post.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Piggott American Legion Post or Arkansas Children's Hospital in David's name.
