David A. Metz Jr.

David A. Metz Jr., known to friends and family as "Dave," the man who could build a computer with his eyes closed and fix anything with duct tape, has logged off for the last time. Born in Rahway, NJ, on August 11, 1965, and departing on December 23, 2023, in Matawan, NJ, Dave left us as mysteriously as he lived, with his cause of death undetermined, probably because he was too complex for mere mortals to figure out.
A proud graduate of Keyport High School, Dave served as a Nuclear Engineer in the U.S. Navy, where he learned that not all submarines are yellow. Post-service, he welded his way into our hearts at East Coast Panel Board. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter and a family tree that includes his sister Lorraine, brother Jacob, brother-in-law Celestino, and his proudest creations, sons David III and Brian.
Wise, intelligent, and courageous, Dave could outsmart Jeopardy contestants and outwit would-be computer hackers. His humor was as infectious as his curiosity, and he'll be remembered as the man who could make even a Vulcan chuckle. Beam him up, Scotty; he's ready for the next adventure.
Memorial service will be held on Monday, January 8th, 2024 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Bedle Funeral Home, 212 Main St, Matawan, NJ 07747.
