David Monroe Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lauer Family Funeral Homes - Concord on Dec. 12, 2025.
David Wayne Monroe, age 75, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 1, 1950, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Jack and Ruth Monroe.
A devoted family man first and foremost, David's greatest joy in life was the time he spent with the people he loved. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Brenda; his children, Amy (Pierre) Stevens, Jenny (Kenneth) Wells, Brian (Sarah) Monroe, and Katie Monroe; his grandchildren, PJ Stevens, Jacob Wells, Emily Wells, Karley Stevens, Riley Monroe, Callan Monroe, and Leon Monroe; and his great-grandson, Oliver Wells. He is also survived by his siblings, Jackie Monroe, Mary Ann Monroe, Thomas Monroe, Cathy Savett, William Monroe, and Robert Monroe, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Patricia Eichenberg and Timothy Monroe.
David retired after 30 dedicated years at General Motors. Never one to shy away from hard work or new challenges, he returned to school while working full-time and earned his RN degree. After retiring from GM, he proudly began a second career in nursing, putting his compassion and care for others into practice each day.
David loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking, and spending time on Archer Lake. He also enjoyed giving back to his community. For many years, he coached 3B baseball for the Bombers in Bedford Township, Michigan, as well as Little League teams, influencing young athletes both on and off the field.
Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are scheduled at this time.
