David F. Moore, born on August 14, 1939, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2024, surrounded by family. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, David's life was marked by the deep connections he made with those around him.
David grew up in Watertown, Massachusetts, where he developed a love for the community that would stay with him throughout his life.
A forty-six-year resident of Medway, David was known for his warmth, kindness, and unwavering loyalty to his loved ones.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne Moore, with whom he shared fifty-seven years of marriage. David was a proud father to his three children: Pamela Smith (married to Darren), Robert Moore (married to Melissa), and Paul Moore (married to Courtney). He cherished every moment spent with his five grandchildren (Molly, Emily, Caitlin, Meredith, and Andrew), who brought him immense joy and pride.
Dave valued his time with family and friends, whether it was playing cards, walking the golf course, or cheering on his favorite Boston sports teams. He loved opening the pool each summer for neighborhood families to enjoy and he could hold court with tales of his golf game, jokes, and how to give a proper handshake.
His love for helping people and being surrounded by loved ones has created countless memories that will be cherished by those who knew him.
A celebration of David's life will be held at the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home 3 Barber Street, Medway on Thursday, September 12, from 4:00 – 7:00p.m.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 13 in St. Joseph Church, Medway at 10:00a.m.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Medway.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to support the Alzheimers's Association, American Cancer Society, , or another charity that has personal meaning to you and your loved ones.
David's warmth, generosity, and love for life will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, friends, and community.

While he might´ve had a gruff outside, inside Mr. Moore was very caring and willing to help anytime no questions asked. We did some golf together, often times I´d come over to his place and we´d watch football. I know how important of a person he was especially all he taught me to be a good person, started with a firm handshake. Besides my family, no one else probably has had as big an influence on my life growing up. Thanks David.

When I was in little league, I was pitching against a team Mr. Moore coached. In the last inning, I made an error to lose the game. Late that day Mr. Moore called me at home to make sure I was ok & offer words of encouragement. He had a gruff exterior but was all heart inside. I´ll always cherish the kind & giving man he was to me & my family.

When I was first introduced to Mr Moore the first thing he asked me was if I had a Savings or Checking account ( I was 57 at the time ) :)
