David Morais, 28, of West Roxbury, MA passed away on September 23, 2025
David was born in Milford, MA on April 27, 1997 to Manuel and Veronica (Drumm) Morais. David was a bright and lively child, with a boundless curiosity for the world around him. David found joy in everything outdoors -- He loved being on a pair of skis, playing a round of golf, boating on the lake, sitting around the campfire with good friends, and gardening at the end of the day. He lived every day as an adventure and would always try anything once. David's passions extended beyond the outdoors. He loved expensive cars, football Sundays, YouTube tutorials, and a good debate. Creative and inventive by nature. He became a skilled craftsman building custom cabinetry, tables, shelves and his specialty, cutting boards.
A perfectionist by heart, David approached every project with meticulous precision and passion. That same precision carried into the kitchen, where his knowledge of spices and love for cooking meant that his friends and family reaped the benefits whenever he was cooking or grilling.
One of David's favorite places was at his families summer home in Arcadia Campground, where he spent countless summers surrounded by those he loved, especially JR. David was a beloved soul who was daring and fearless, yet famously hated change and always liked things done the "right way." He will be missed for his profound loyalty, compassion and heart of gold. His generosity, keen intelligence, and wonderful sense of humor endeared him to all who knew him.
Above all, David's family, friends, and girlfriend were the cornerstone of his life. He was a devoted son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. He is survived by his parents, Manuel and Veronica Morais; his sisters, Julia Morais and Alaina Kierstead, and brother-in-law, Zach Kierstead; his girlfriend and love of his life, Ashlyn Melvin; his cousin and best friend, Danny DeFrank; as well as countless friends and family.
Calling Hours to which family, friends and the public will be held Monday September 29, 2025 at the BUMA Funeral Home 101 N Main Street, Uxbridge, from 3:00-7:00 pm
Burial will be private.
For 10 years David, his sisters, and cousins traveled to Kermit, West Virginia for one cherished week every year. What started as a service trip to help the local community turned into so much more. He spent time with friends who turned into family and
enjoyed the serenity that only the mountain could bring.
