David George O’Haver, 77, of Martinsville, passed away at home on July 29, 2024. He was born in Marion County on September 2, 1946, to the late Thomas and Marian (Johnson) O’Haver. David graduated from Marion High School in 1964.

He spent most of his life as a self-employed carpenter. David used his carpentry skills and creativity to build log homes and birdhouses in his free time. He was always tinkering and building things around the house.

David had an admiration for classic cars, owning several including a 427 Corvette. He also had a passion for music. David spent several years traveling across the country playing the jazz organ for E Band. Most recently, David and his wife, Karen, ran Sweet Smoothie Café in Martinsville where he enjoyed making his Dandelion Tea. Above all, David loved praising the Lord and reading the Bible.

David leaves behind a loving family including his wife, Karen (Davis) O’Haver, whom he married on April 9th, 2010; son, Marcus O’Haver (husband, Mark Branch); brother, Tom O’Haver (wife, Elaine); sisters, Susan O’Haver Young (husband, Stan) and Nancy Borsay; stepson, Damon Ferguson; stepdaughter, Haley Ferguson; along with several extended family members.
