Dr. David Lee Pearson D.D.S., 90, of Mooresville, passed peacefully at the Millers Merry Manor in Mooresville on Monday, May 19, 2025. He was born in Seymour to the late Emerson Ethlebert Pearson and Alberta Crosby (Crawford) Pearson on November 25, 1934.
David graduated from Mooresville High School with the class of 1952. He then attended IU and graduated from dental school in 1958. He opened his practice in Mooresville in 1959. Doc, as many lovingly knew him, practiced until he was 87 years old retiring in March of 2022.
During his time at Indiana University, he married the love of his life, Dr. Sue Reichart, on September 4, 1955. She preceded him in death on December 18, 2012. Together the couple had three children. David's children share fond memories of him coaching their sports teams, helping build soap box derby cars, and coaching the choir and band solo and ensemble pieces for state competitions.
David was an avid bicyclist. He enjoyed thousands of miles on the recumbent bicycle. He participated in races all over the world including the Infinity that took him oversees to Switzerland, 11 Marathons, many Hilly 100s, and several other races all over the United States. His love of cycling even landed him a spot in the movie, Breaking Away (1979).
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mooresville. He served 37 years on the Mooresville Park Board and served 8 years on the Mooresville School Board.
David is survived by his family and friends including his son, Andrew (wife, Becky) Pearson of Indianapolis; daughter, Kathy (husband, Kenny) Jamrozy of South Bend; grandchildren, Paige (husband, Bill) Chasteen, Shannon Ridenour, Shauna (husband, Ryan) Williams, Shannon Merrill, and Michael Reed; and 9 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emerson and Alberta Pearson; wife, Dr. Sue Pearson; and son, Grant Pearson.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Gathering at 5 East Event Center, 5 E. Main St., Mooresville, on Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. His earthly remains have been cremated.

I was saddened to hear that Dr Pearson had died. He was my dentist all throughout the 60's and 70's when I was growing up. I still have some of the fillings he put in my mouth. I have fond memories of him as a dentist (he always called me "tiger") and also as a runner. He would frequently run down our country road in Camby.

He will be missed by many, including me. Wish I could find the pic of he and my dad in front of a small plane, getting ready to go for an adventure, probably sometime in the 70s.
