Mr. Reynolds will always be etched in my memories. When my father, Jack Drees, couldn't teach me how to drive a stick shift, he turned to his friend and colleague Dave. Very willingly, Mr. Reynolds taught me how to drive a stick shift, I believe in his SAAB. Im not a car person but it was something like that in 1976. He had a kind of funny and reassuring way about him. I'd call it "Dave's Humor".

My condolences to the Reynold's family. Mr. Reynoldsmade a positive impact on many young people as coach, mentor, and teacher. His patience and care for his students will be remembered. I will always remember his patience as my driver's education teacher! God bless the Reynolds family.

Dear Bobbie and Family,
I too met your husband long before I had the privledge of doing business with you as a local real estate agent here in my home town.
Your poor husband had the unfortunate mission of teaching me to use a stick shift. I had driven trucks and farm equiptment as a child, but never a stick shift vehicle. I thought it would be a great idea to drive out to our ranch on Floradale Avenue to show off to my Dad....and your thoughtful husband agreed to let me do just that. The trip was pretty uneventful and most successful for the most part...showed off...had the bonus of arriving out to the ranch and having other farmers there in the back barn area chatting it up with my Dad...I was feeling pretty special in my Dad's eyes by now and could barely wait for dinner time to hear him brag on me.
Well, it almost happened that way...until I was ready to drive out of that barn area smiling and waving to the fine crowd that must have arrived just to see me drive that white car....and then BANG...what was that?? Oh, not me...not my car...how could my car end up on my Dads tool carrier that is always parked in the exact same spot?? Mostly, how can a big car get jacked up that far that quick? Well, as I am now telling my 16 year old grandson as I teach him to drive, (who is letting me do that?) YOU HAVE TO LOOK DOWN "everytime" you put that car into drive because if you put it in reverse and hit that gas....you DO go backwards and FAST...and there will be a differant discussion at dinner time...and YOU will never ever forget it. Lucky for me my Dads tool carrier was not damaged and my wonderful teacher had the auto shop repair what I did with my first driving incident.
May all of your special memories of your loved one stay in your minds and hearts forever and ease your sorrow.
Fondly,
Francine Silva LSHS 1969

Mr. Reynolds was my Driver's Ed teacher. As somebody else already said, he was firm, but always fair. I still think of him and our group of eager teen drivers-to-be every time I travel over Harris Grade. Thanks for the memories of a really great time in my life!
God Bless You and Your Family.

Coach Reynolds was one the best coaches at Lompoc. I still remember when he told us at football pratice that we would see the sun rise and the sunset with him. I also enjoyed coaching with him. Thanks for all good times.

Coach Reynolds was a fantastic mentor and coach to all of us who played for him and he was a great role model for many of us in the 70's. I once wrote about how my classmates and I were so fortunate to have such great teachers and coaches at Lompoc Senior High School, and it was about Coach Reynolds that I was referring to. I can still hear him say, "How's it goin, Valencia?" Thank you Coach for everything. Jim Valencia

The Reynolds Family,
I had Mr. Reynolds as my State Requirements/Driver's Ed teacher at Lompoc HIgh in 1972. I remember him being firm, but fair. I enjoyed having him. Also recall he was very involved with the athletics department.
May your many happy memories be of comfort to you now.

I am sorry for your loss Mrs. Reynolds and family. My Mom greatly enjoyed working for you both before you sold the business in Lompoc. You both were always so kind to my family and I. God bless your family.
