David R. Royds, 81 of Dahlonega, Georgia passed away on Sunday, July 23rd, 2023. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa. on June 6, 1942, to Myrtle Royds (Burns) and Horace W. Royds. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth Royds (Graham), children John D. Royds (Kay) of Lilburn, Ga. and Christine Hatch of Dahlonega, Ga. Grandchildren Nicole Lovell (James) of Dahlonega, Ga., Chesney, Janey and Jonathan Royds of Lilburn, Ga. Great Grandsons Elijah Christensen and Aiden Lovell of Dahlonega, Ga. He is also survived by his brother George Royds (Mary) of Sewell, N.J. and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was a Boy Scout Leader and Cub Master for many years. He loved camping, golf, bowling and watching wrestling and college basketball on TV. He enjoyed working in the yard and doing any handyman work around the house. Mostly he enjoyed spending time with his family and being Pop Pop to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Cleveland Funeral Home is overseeing the arrangements.
Service will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Cleveland.
