David Ray Russell was born August 15, 1951 in Pulaski County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Roy Edward Russell and Iva Dean Whitaker Russell. He was united in marriage first to Karen Sue Rogers who preceded him in death. He was also united in marriage to Susie Treece Russell who preceded him in death. He is survived by his two children, Eddie Russell and wife LaDawn, Patti Russell (Shawn Whitaker) both of Somerset Kentucky; two step-children, Travis Sparks and wife Jamie of Speedwell, Tennessee, Melody Bryant and husband Samuel of Corbin, Kentucky; two siblings, Barbara Gibbs and husband Leonard of Speedwell, Tennessee and Carol Harville (Jewell) both of London; six grandchildren, Chad Sparks, Addison Sparks, Chase Bryant, Paige Bryant, Austin Clark and Zack Clark ; seven nephews, Dean Lewis(Laura), Doug Lewis (Veronica), David Lewis (Amy Hatfield), Turner Lewis, Cooper Lewis, Doug Lewis, Jr. and Hunter Lewis; three nieces, Savannah Saramento, Madison Lewis and Caroline Lewis plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
He was a truck driver and of the Baptist Faith.
David Ray Russell departed this life Wednesday, August 7, 2024 being 72 years, 11 months, and 23 days of age.
The funeral service for David Ray Russell will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Bald Rock Baptist Church with Jamie Epperson and Vince Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in Poynter Chapel Cemetery in Bald Rock, Kentucky.
The family of David Ray Russell will receive friends at Bowling Funeral Home beginning at 6:00 p.m. Sunday.
