David Allen Saunders, 75, of New Castle, passed away on February 18, 2026. He was born in Anderson, IN, on July 31, 1950, to the late Ward and Charlene (Kirk) Saunders.

Dave’s journey began at a young age when he discovered his passion for flooring. At just 15 years old, he began laying carpet, a skill he honed over the decades. In 1985, he took a significant step in his career by starting his own flooring business with his devoted wife, which not only showcased his craftsmanship but also his entrepreneurial spirit.

Throughout his life, Dave was known for his dedication to family and friends. He cherished the relationships he nurtured, particularly with his son Drew and brother Bob, with whom he shared many memorable moments playing golf. Dave was a longtime member of the Tri County Golf Club, where he found joy and camaraderie among fellow golf enthusiasts.

In addition to golf, Dave had a wide array of interests that brought him happiness. He found pleasure in the great outdoors through hunting and fishing, and he expressed his creativity through woodworking, gardening, and canning. Whether he was preparing for a round of golf, spending a day in nature, or pursuing a new project, Dave was always moving and actively engaged in life.

Those who knew him understood his love for his dogs, Benny and Tucker, the latter affectionately named after the man who taught him the trade he loved so much. Dave also had a fondness for enjoying a cold Bud Light beer, sharing laughter and stories with those around him. His adventurous spirit kept him open to trying new things, demonstrating his zest for life.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Drew Saunders; granddaughter, Jaclyn Saunders; brother, Bobby (Jerry) Saunders; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his loving wife, Beverly Dianne Saunders; daughter, Christina Saunders; and brother, Steve “Bubba” Saunders.

At the families’ wishes, there will be no services. Cremation will take place at Hinsey-Brown in New Castle. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society here. You may express condolences or share a memory of Dave at www.hinsey-brown.com.
