David G. Scharn

David G. Scharn – age 67, beloved husband of Sherrie (Doucette) Scharn died unexpectedly Tuesday, September 10 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH.
He was born in Boston, October 25, 1956 and was fortunate to have two sets of parents, the late Harold V. and Mary E. (Smith) Scharn and Lillian and Angelo DeBenedictis of Carlisle. David was raised in Billerica and moved to Dunstable 13 years ago.
He was employed in the Software Industry as a UX Designer having worked for Virtusa and Kronos and his last employment was with CVS Health. Additionally, he was a Lecturer in the Digital Media Program at Northeastern University which he was actively doing until his passing. David was an active member of the Salvation Army in Lowell where he played in the band.
Besides his wife and parents, David is survived by his children, Jacob Scharn of Nantucket, Serena Scharn of Boston, Moriah Scharn and Shiloh Scharn of Dunstable; his brothers, Steven Scharn of TX, Dean Scharn of FL, Scott Scharn of Saugus, Brian Scharn of Amesbury, Robert Scharn of Ayer and Robert DeBenedictis of Cambridge and his sisters, Janis Horsley of Hudson, NH, Kristine Beaulieu of Westford, Lisa Downie of NC, Diana Lynn Scharn of Lowell, Patty Popov of Concord and Lori Jimenez of Carlisle. He was the brother of the late Dan Scharn.
Visiting hours will be held Monday, September 16 at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4 - 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 17 at the Salvation Army 150 Appleton St., Lowell at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, www.salvationarmyma.org/lowell His burial will take place at the Fox Hill Cemetery in Billerica.
