Darryl W. Selinsky, 78, passed away on October 19, 2025, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born in Canton on April 3, 1947, graduated from Perry High School in 1965, and went on to attend and graduate from Ohio University. While at Ohio University he joined the ROTC, and after graduating, served in the United States Air Force as a missile control officer in Rapid City, South Dakota. He was honorably discharged as a second Lieutenant. Darryl returned to Canton to be employed by his father and uncle at Henry A. Selinsky, Inc. Several years later, along with his father and brother he helped start Ohio Steel Slitters, Inc. Darryl later became a part owner until his retirement in 2019.
Darryl really enjoyed his long rides on his Harley on nice summer weekends. He loved the Indians and the Buckeyes. He especially loved the time he had with his step grandkids and their kids.
Darryl was preceded in death by his wife of over 40 years, Lillian, his father, Warren, mother Florence (Magnello), sister Karen Selinsky, niece Jennifer Megan Huart and step grandson Jeremy Bardash. He is survived by his sister Charlene Hardy (Wayne), brother Craig Selinsky (Kathi), grandsons Justin and Andrew and their children. Darryl also will be remembered by his nieces and nephews, Ty Hurless, Jeffrey Hurless, Lisa Genosa, Christina Huart, Sarah Selinsky, and Monica Selinsky Hilvert. Darryl's legacy will be the kindness, compassion, and love he showed towards everyone that came into his life.
The family will hold a private service. Online Guest Book available at reedfuneralhome.com.
