DAVID A. SIMPSON, 67, of Evansville, Illinois, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, October 10, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born to the late Glen U. and Fern M. (nee Stone) Simpson at St. Clement's Hospital, Red Bud, Illinois on July 20, 1957.
David dedicated over twenty years of his life to Spartan Printing, followed by another twenty years as a shop steward at Universal Printing. He advocated for his fellow workers and contributed to a positive work environment. All who knew him admired his work ethic and commitment to his profession.
A passionate man, David loved fishing and gardening, but nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his son and grandchildren. His love for his family was evident in all aspects of his life, and he will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
David was a devoted father to his son, Corey A. Simpson of Sparta, Illinois, and a cherished grandfather to his three grandchildren – Eddie Knuckles, Zarria Simpson, and Zeta Simpson. He shared a special bond with his partner, Debbie Smith, and was a beloved brother to Glenn, Kenneth, and Joe Simpson. He was an uncle to many nieces and nephews, as well as great-nephews and a great-niece, and had a wide circle of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a very loved sister-in-law – Sara Simpson, and a nephew Kenneth Simpson, Jr.
It was David's wish to be cremated
Rest in peace, David. Your legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew you.
