David Spruell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rush Funeral Home - Pineville on Jan. 20, 2025.
Funeral services for Mr. David Allen Spruell will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, January 24, 2025, in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery, Verda, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
Mr. Spruell, 65, of Montgomery, entered eternal rest on Sunday, January 19, 2025, in his residence surrounded by his loving family.
David was a loving husband of thirty-one years and a doting father. His passions included fishing, playing basketball, watching LSU, and especially Saints football. He cherished his dogs and took great pleasure in taking them for rides each day. He was always willing to assist anyone in need, regardless of whether he knew them personally. David was known as a father figure to many, consistently providing mentorship and support to those who needed him.
He began his first job at the age of fifteen and strongly believed in the values of hard work and providing for his family. He was once recognized as Employee of the Year at Music Mountain Water. David was also the District Manager for The Town Talk before retiring. He never met a stranger, and he had a remarkable ability to connect with everyone he encountered. Those who knew him would often say, "He was the best of us." He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Spruell; stepfather David Sheffield; and one brother, Philip Spruell.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of thirty-one years, Terri Spruell of Montgomery; two sons, Nathan Spruell (Madeline) of Ball, and Matthew Spruell of Montgomery; one daughter, Sara Spruell of Pollock; his mother, Linda Spruell Sheffield; one sister, Karen Spruell of Alexandria; one step-sister, Susan Mathews (Randy) of Alexandria; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation will be held at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Friday, January 24, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Nathan Spruell, Matthew Spruell, Joseph Dufrene, Cody Potter, Yoel Borges, and Brian Savage.

So very sorry to hear of the loss of David. I always hoped we would see each other again after my husband Ken and I moved back to the area. Time has a way of moving along so fast, that to my disappointment, a meeting never got to happen. Sending my thoughts and prayers to the family. May God bless and keep you in the palm of his hand. Love Carolyn Spruell Rinehart.
