We wish to share the passing of David Stoltzfus, born on July 30, 1954, in Salisbury, MD, and peacefully departed just one day after celebrating his 70th birthday, on July 31, 2024, at his residence in Snow Hill, MD.
David found solace in gospel music and cherished the moments spent listening to its inspiring melodies. Despite his battle with disability, his courageous spirit and love for his family never wavered.
David is survived by his cherished sisters, Ruth Ann Bates (William) and Mary Jane Eby (Merle), with whom he shared a profound bond. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law Jean Cann, as well as several aunts, an uncle, a nephew, nieces, and numerous cousins who will miss him dearly.
In addition to his parents, Omar and Kathryn Stoltzfus, David was preceded in death by his brothers, Omar Stoltzfus, Jr. and Lee Stoltzfus.
In honoring his memory and celebrating his life, a Graveside Service will be held at Snow Hill Mennonite Church Cemetery on August 8, 2024, at 4:00 pm.
The family wishes to convey their deepest gratitude to the Worcester County Development Center for their unwavering care, compassion, and support throughout his journey. In remembrance of David and the joy he brought to those around him, his life will be honored with love and respect during the forthcoming services. May he rest in peace.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in David's memory to the Worcester County Development Center, P.O. Box 70, Newark, MD 21841.
Children of the heav'nly Father
Safely in His bosom gather;
Nestling bird nor star in heaven
Such a refuge e'er given.
Neither life nor death shall ever
From the Lord His children sever;
Unto them His grace He showeth,
And their sorrows all He knoweth.
Though He giveth or He taketh,
God His children ne'er forsaketh.
His the loving purpose solely
To preserve them pure and holy.
