David Floyd Summerton 88 years ago was born on March 27. 1937 to Reese & Ethel (Cook) Summerton in St. Louis MO. He died at home April 11, 2025, He is survived by one sister Rayleen Beals of Illinois. He divorced from Shirley Miller in 1999. They raised together 4 children David Floyd Summerton Jr – passed in 2007. Dennis Summerton of Cottonwood Tn. Danny Ray Summerton passed in 2019 and Paula Shepheard of Gideon Mo.
David served our country in the United State Air Force Reserves and the Air National guard Reserves. Often recall his duties during the crisis under the command of John F. Kennedys term as the President in the 1960.
David enlisted into his children how important it was to do the right thing and provide well for your family. He was a very hard worker He's been store clerk pharmacy and factory labor. He's been employed with whirlpool Products, and he retired from the Watervliet Mill in Watervliet Michigan. His hobbies included raising, breeding birds. He loved his birds: often referred to as "the bird Man".
He has always been active and very involved with his ever-growing family. very active with the boys sports and even coached in their baseball games. Then with his grandkids and even great grand kids ball games & activities they active in programs and pageants always smiling with pride and encouragement always supporting to do their best no matter what.
He like to travel to different state and has been in other countries as well. He enjoyed making money because he like having thins. He's said his had a very full life done and gone a lot of places and seen a lot of things. No complaints a very great life.
David is survived by a son: Dennis and daughter Paula a sister Rayleen Beals of Il. 13 grandchildren 30 great grandchildren & 15 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
