David A. Szulczewski, age 73, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2023, at his residence.
David was born on November 2, 1949, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, to Joseph and Janet (Krubsack) Szulczewski. He married Linda Rehwinkle on May 24, 1980.
He served in the U.S. Army from June of 1968 to October of 1975 and is proud to be a Vietnam veteran.
David enjoyed fishing, steam engines, Harley Davidsons, and John Deere tractors. He loved to spend time with his family, swapping jokes, and making people laugh. He was very generous to his nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
He was a welder in the Army, for Merrill Manufacturing, or for anyone who needed it.
David is survived by his son, Jeremy Szulczewski; stepsons, Chris and Shawn Rehwinkle; siblings, Daniel Szulczewski of Raleigh, NC, Jennie (Greg) Ferkey of Wisconsin Rapids, Jeanne Cole of Wisconsin Rapids, Cindy Peckham of Nekoosa, Donna (Damon) Klinger of Wisconsin Rapids, Jerry (Lynn) Szulczewski of Omro, WI, Sara (Gareld) Morris of Wisconsin Rapids; sisters in law, Julie Szulczewski and Brenda Szulczewski; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, ex-wife Linda Szulczewski; brothers, Patrick, Robert, and Richard Szulczewski; sisters in law, Kathy and Connie Szulczewski; and brothers in law, Roger Kauffman, Robert Cole, and John Peckham.
The family will be holding a celebration of life at the Rock Resort in Merrill on July 8th at 1:00 pm.
Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
