David Allen Szydlowski, Sr., a father, grandfather, brother, and friend, pass away on March 17, 2025, at the age of 73.
Dave was born on October 22, 1951, to Gabriel and Helen Szydlowski, in Highland Park, Michigan. After graduating from Hazel Park High School, Dave left to honorably serve our nation in the United States Air Force from 1971 to 1975. In 1982, he went on to graduate from Baptist Bible College with a bachelor's in Christian education. He was active and generous in his church and served in various capacities for several parishes in the Detroit area. Dave also worked as driver in the logistics field for numerous companies in Detroit for over 20 years as well.
Dave will be remembered as the life of the party at all family gatherings and church functions. He really had a special way about him that made those around him feel welcomed. He was an enthusiastic sports fan and would not hesitate to give his time to support his family's sports achievements. Additionally, Dave was an avid bowler, golfer, and fisherman.
He is survived by his beloved son, DJ (Megan) Szydlowski, dear sister, Gail (John), cherished brothers, Jim (Carol), Vince (Joyce), and Richard (Flora), along with four treasured grandchildren, Dakota, Ezra, Luka, and Zane. He is also survived by his previous spouse, Doreen Szydlowski, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Dave in death are his parents, Gabriel and Helen, his sisters, Vicky and Nancy, as well as his brother, Gabe.
Dave's love and enthusiasm for life will be forever remembered by his family and friends along with the encouragement that he gave them.
He will be deeply missed by many.
A visitation will take place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 1368 N. Crooks Rd., Clawson, 48017, on Friday, April 11, from 10:30-11:30am.
