David Thomas, 69, of Jonesboro, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2025, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. He was born April 16, 1956, in Rockford, Illinois, to the late Franklin and Willie Thomas.
David enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching westerns, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family, who affectionately called him “Papa.”
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Thomas; two daughters, Davita Moody and Tomazene Payton; one brother, Garry Thomas; and three sisters, Jessica Partain, Debbie Findley, and Tammy Finley.
Survivors include his daughter, Haylee Payton; three grandchildren, Courtney (Emily Davis) Thomas, Hunter Thomas, and Summer Moody; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald (Tammy) Thomas; and three sisters, Brenda McGinnis, Becky Gatewood, and Lynn Thomas.
All services will be private.
