David Titus Obituary David Lawrence Titus of Fort Wayne, Indiana and formerly of Cromwell, Indiana passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, October 13, 2025. This hardworking man is now at rest and whole again in the presence of his Lord and Savior!
He was born on March 16, 1943, in Waterville, Maine to Lawrence and Alice (Kinney) Titus. From an early age David learned about hard work as his family owned a sawmill, and growing up, together they logged the trees and milled their own lumber. They made pallets and specialized walnut moldings.
He graduated from Bangor High School in 1961 and that same year he enlisted in the U.S. Army in September and proudly served until his honorable discharge in 1964. David then earned his Bachelor's degree from Husson College. He worked the majority of his life in the automotive industry for Carlex Glass America where he retired as the purchasing manager. David possessed a very strong work ethic his entire life, and put forth his best effort in everything he did. A good man who always followed through on his commitments. Throughout his life he wore many hats and loved to serve his community as a volunteer firefighter and EMT in Wolf Lake.
On August 13, 1966, he married Trenna May Naugler, and they were blessed with 59 years of marriage before David passed away. They lived in Cromwell, Indiana for 41 years prior to moving to Fort Wayne. He enjoyed his church family at Emmanuel Community Church in Fort Wayne where he had been attending for the past 10 years. David was an avid fan of the Red Sox, I.U., and the Indiana Colts.
More than anything he dearly loved his family and enjoyed supporting his kids. David never tired of watching his kids and grandchildren play sports. Quality time spent with his family was a priority in his life and they will never forget some of the many quirky words of knowledge he imparted on them. "Keep it under 100!" when they left and especially "Shut the door! We're not air conditioning the outside!"
He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. David will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Trenna May Titus (Fort Wayne, Indiana); three daughters, Jennifer (Joseph) Fletcher (Enid, OK); Tiffany (Jeff) Helton (Lisle, IL); and Erin (Jeremy) Marsh (
Warsaw, IN). Also surviving are his nine beloved grandchildren, Andrew (Devon) Kramer; Mark, Justin and Cora Fletcher; Maddie and Jacob Helton; Nick, Blake, and Emma Marsh; as well as his brother, John Titus (
Warsaw, IN). He was preceded in death by his parents.
David's life will be celebrated with a service at 11 am on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Emmanuel Community Church, 7227 Bittersweet Moors Drive, Fort Wayne, IN 46814 and officiated by Pastor Gary Dilley. Arrangements were entrusted with Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road,
Warsaw, Indiana.
