Obituary published on Legacy.com by Osborne Funeral Home, PA - Williamsport on Oct. 3, 2025.
We are saddened to announce that David Michael Trevey passed away August 3, 2025, in Berkeley Springs, WV, at the age of 72 after a lengthy health battle. A unique and complex character, he was one who left an impression. David was the first of seven children born to Barbara Joan (Hutchinson) Trevey and Ewell Byron Trevey Jr. From the beginning, his life was an adventure - he was born on March 29, 1953 at the Royal Air Force base in Burtonwood, Lancashire, England, where his mother had sailed to reunite with Ewell as he served in the U.S. Air Force. His formative years were spent in Rockville, Maryland, where he was raised.
As a young man, David took care to look stylish and cool. A talented musician, we enjoyed hearing him play the drums, and he performed with numerous bands and fellow musicians over the years. Some of his favorite groups were The Allman Brothers Band, Led Zeppelin, Frank Zappa, and blues rock in general. David loved Harley motorcycles and the biker scene. We all know he could be quite the rascal and troublemaker at times, but at the end of the day in his later years, he enjoyed a quiet home in the countryside of Kearneysville, West Virginia, where he could watch the birds and rabbits, tinker around the yard and in his garage, and enjoy life with his partner of 13 years, Felicia Madden. David was charming, funny, and observant. He greatly enjoyed visiting with his family. Some of his favorite childhood memories were Thanksgivings spent at his grandmother Bootsie's house. He loved nature, all animals and spending time outdoors.
David worked in a variety of occupations, including as a bar owner, big rig driver, and trucking company owner. He worked as a firefighter at the Montgomery County Department of Fire & Rescue for ten years.
David was preceded in death by his parents: Ewell Byron Trevey Jr. and Barbara Joan (Hutchinson) Trevey, and his sister Karen Eileen (Trevey) [Kimothy] Wilson. He is survived by his loving partner Felicia Victoria Madden and his siblings: Robert Byron [Esther] Trevey, Neal Patrick [Sara] Trevey, Paul Andrew [Kim] Trevey, Richard Matthew [Stacy] Trevey, and Suzanne Marie (Trevey) [Jeff] Clements. While David never had children of his own, he leaves behind bonus-kids Joseph [Lauren] Madden, Katie Madden [partner Phil] and Molly (Madden) [Dave] Weiss,10 nieces and nephews, 14 great-nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Levi. He left an indelible impression, and we will all remember him as uniquely David, one of a kind.
