David Michael Turner, age 65, of Wilmington, MA, passed away in his home on May 17, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born August 14, 1959, in Taunton, MA, to the late Robert L. Turner and Margaret A. Turner (formerly Mahoney).
David was raised in Sudbury, MA where he was a graduate of Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School. After school, David was employed for 38 years at Webb industries where he worked his way up the career ladder and became a Purchasing and Logistics expert.
David met the love of his life, Nancy, on Labor Day Weekend of 1981 and later married her in September 1986. They lived in Wilmington where they raised their children Jesse and Dylan. David spent most of his summer weekends at his "camp" on Lake Winnipesaukee where he had a large community of friends. David loved the outdoors and his favorite thing to do was to go fishing on his beloved boat, The Reel Turner. When returning from a sunset ride, he would love nothing more than to drink a nice glass of whiskey by a good campfire.
David was an outstanding father to Jesse and Dylan. He was very proud to have two college-educated children but even prouder that they brought him two granddaughters in the last year of his life. In October, he lovingly became "Grumpy" to Marnie Mae (Jesse) and Dorothea (Dylan), though he never had a grumpy day with his grandchildren around.
David and Nancy spent their winter months in Florida recently relocating to The Villages in September. He spent this winter enjoying his new home and the beautiful view of the golf course. He loved going for golf cart rides, solving puzzles, and reading in the sun.
David was the beloved husband of 38 years to his devoted wife Nancy Turner (Flores); cherished father of Jesse Turner and wife Kelly of Wilmington, MA and Dylan Turner and wife Harley of Parsonsfield, ME; loving grandfather to Marnie Turner (Jesse) and Dorothea Turner(Dylan); dear brother to Bob Turner and wife Carol of Marlborough, MA, Mark Turner and wife Nancy of Bristol, RI, and the late Scott Turner; brother-in-law to Bob Flores and wife Judy of Haverhill, MA, Barbara Ciaramella and husband Peter of Old Orchard Beach, ME, and Gene Flores and wife Christine of Wilmington, MA; and favorite Uncle to many nephews and nieces including the daughter he never had, Stefanie Haywood of Billerica, MA.
Although David's 10-year battle with brain cancer is over, his strength over the years will forever inspire his friends and family.
The family will receive friends at the Nichols Funeral Home on Friday, May 23rd from 12:30-2:30 p.m. followed by a graveside interment at Wildwood Cemetery in Wilmington. All are welcome to join the family following the cemetery service at Kitty's Restaurant, 123 Main St., in North Reading, MA, to continue a celebration of David's life.
In lieu of flowers, donations in David's memory may be made to https://spauldingrehab.org/giving or by mail to the Spaulding Rehabilitation, Donor Support, 300 First Ave., Charlestown, MA 02129.
