In Loving Memory of a Hardworking Man, and a Dedicated Father and Husband. It is with a very heavy heart that family announces the passing of Marvin Duaine Turner, loving husband and father, and a man whose unwavering work ethic inspired everyone who knew him.

Marvin left this world peacefully on September 22, 2025, in his home in Fife, WA. Marv was born on July 27, 1937, in Tacoma, WA, and raised in Puyallup, WA. He was the youngest of four children and the last surviving sibling. From the time he was in grade school he always knew how very important it was to work and help others. He carried these values throughout his life, always striving to provide for his family and to support his friends and neighbors.

In 1959, Marv entered the Army, serving with dedication for four years in both South Korea and Eastern Washington. After his parents passed and he received his Honorable Discharge, he joined his siblings to start a painting and construction company. Their work took them to government sites across various states. After about 25 years, Marv started his own business as a general contractor building houses and the Murphy's Landing Marina in Gig Harbor.

He wanted to be busy every day, including helping others. He continued doing this well into his eighties. He was a skilled craftsman and his hands shaped materials and built structures that will stand as a testament to his labor and care. Colleagues and customers admired his reliability, determination, and willingness to go the extra mile to ensure every task was completed to the highest standard.

Marv's legacy is one of resilience, love, and integrity. His warm smile, and unwavering commitment to doing what was right will be deeply missed. He was a devoted and loving husband to his wife, Pat, with whom he shared 30 wonderful years of marriage. Marv deeply loved his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Pat; his daughter Shannon with children Zack and Emily; daughter Brenda with children Stella and Lily; stepdaughter Kelly (husband Jason) and their children Anna, Olivia, Jacob, Kira, Liam, Finn; and his sister-in-law Barbara, as well as extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Service Information: A funeral Mass for Marv will be held at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Fife, WA, on October 9, 2025, 11:00 AM with a rosary and viewing held prior at 10:15. Marv's ashes will be laid to rest in a final act of remembrance at Tahoma National Cemetery on October 14, 2025, at 2:30 PM. All who knew and loved Marv are invited to attend and celebrate his life. Rest in peace, Marvin Duaine Turner. Your legacy will live on through the lives you touched and the love you gave so freely.
