David C. VanHorn, age 69, lifetime resident of the Ovid area, died unexpectedly at his home in Willard on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.
David was born in Seneca Falls on January 15, 1956, a son of the late Lewis L. and Madeline (Hay) VanHorn Sr, and a 1973 graduate of South Seneca High School. He was a lifetime “tree surgeon” and operated VanHorn’s Tree Care for decades.
He is survived by his children; Stephen VanHorn (Allison Conetah) of Barneveld, NY, Mike (Felicia Nussbaumer) of Ovid and Danielle (Cody) Cornwell of Mt. Washington, KY and his grandsons, Owen & Blake VanHorn, Lukas, Alexander & Eli Cornwell; his siblings, Jeffrey VanHorn, Cynthia (Buster) Brown and Leslie (Barb) VanHorn Sr. along with several nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his siblings, Lewis Jr., Sonta Rae and grandson Landon James.
The family will honor David privately, there will be no public services.
