David Lee Wasson, 65 of Buckhannon, WV formerly of Morgantown, WV., passed away on October 31, 2025. He was born December 1, 1959 in Ruston, LA, the son of the late James A. and Anne P. Wasson.
He is survived by his brother Robert Wasson (Cindy), nephew Ethan Wasson of Fairmont, WV., and stepmother Carol Wasson of Webster, NY. He was a 1977 graduate of Morgantown High School and 1988 graduate of West Virginia University with a BA in Political Science. He played several seasons with the WVU Marching Band. He loved playing the organ. He was a USAF veteran who served from 1980-1986.
A graveside service will be held at West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton, 42 Veterans Memorial Lane on November 12, 2025 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Opportunity House, 93 East Main St., Buckhannon, WV or WVU Pride Travel Fund at WVU Foundation.
