David Michael Weaver, 70, of Black Mountain, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 7, 2024.
David was born November 17, 1953, in Buncombe County to the late David Johnson Mackey and Helen Weaver Stepp.
Often associated with his long-time career in the trucking industry, he was also well-known for listening or singing music of all kinds, enjoying great food, traveling, watching sports, and sharing stories with or about his family. A firm believer in his faith, David would often quote his favorite scriptures for all who would listen. A pillar in his family and community, his presence will forever be longed for well past his transition.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Demetria Michelle Weaver and David Michael Weaver, Jr. (Sabrina) all of Concord, NC; mother of his children, Cynthia Inez Weaver; grandchildren, Jeremiah Weaver, Malakai Weaver, and Nylah Weaver; siblings, Renee Weaver, Ray Weaver, and Jeffrey Weaver; aunt, Allavertta Kirkland; nephews, Tiyon Weaver (Erica), Terran Reid, and great nephew Kendrick Weaver; special cousins, Chad Kirkland and Tiwan Twitty (Nettie); and a host of cousins and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals and Cremation Services. A private burial will be held in the Old Oak Grove Cemetery at a subsequent date.
Special thanks to all who have called or texted, and shared words of sympathy during this time.

Michael (as I always knew him) was a good friend and respected man of honor. He was a slightly bit older than myself but considered an elder by those younger. Within the past few years he'd stop downtown AVL and chat about past times with me. We'd talk about ones we've known and miss who've transitioned. I will remember his hospitality and kind heart.

I loved your laugh - there´s no one who could make me laugh the way you could. You were a great friend to me when I needed one the most and I will never forget it - or you. Rest well my dear friend, you have well earned your slumber. I love you.
Always, Lori Ellen Exum (aka Chocolate Chip [insiders]).
