David Allen Weaver, age 78, of Osage, MN, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND, with his family by his side.
David Was born on December 2, 1946, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Park Rapids, MN, the son of the late Richard and Lillian (Smith) Weaver. He was raised in Ponsford, MN, and attended Park Rapids Schools. On February 17, 1968, he was married to Jeannette Dirkes at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Park Rapids and they made their home in Osage, MN. They raised cattle and David worked as a Ford mechanic in Park Rapids and Detroit Lakes until 1974 when he started working in road construction. In 1988, he then worked for the Hubbard County Highway Department until his retirement in 2012. In his free time, he enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, gardening, and working on his many classic vehicles. He was also an avid dog lover and loved to spend time with his family and friends.
David is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jeannette Weaver; 3 children, Michael (Tammy) Weaver, Brenda (Frank) Stuemke, and Brian (Melanie) Weaver; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and sister, Carol VanNyhuis; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roger Weaver.
A Celebration of Life for David will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Jones Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids, MN.
