David Whaley Obituary

Passed away on March 11, 2023 at the age of 78. David was born in Cadillac, Michigan on March 2, 1945, the son of Clarence and Meda Whaley. He graduated from Cadillac High School class of 1963. David and Vicki were married May 15, 1993 on the Island in Grand Ledge. He worked in the Computer Room at MSU then on to the State of Michigan where he retired in 1995. After retirement, David was recruited by Unisys to help establish the technology for Welfare in California. He enjoyed golfing, swimming, and loved walking the woods.
David is survived by his wife of 30 years Vicki, children Kim Soo (Bruce) Cotton, Jeremy (Sarah) Whaley, Troy (Elizabeth) Whaley, Joel (Kristine) Cody, and Jennifer (Earl) Whitney, 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, sisters Dawn (Michael) Guiterez, Darlene (Dale) McLaughlin, Laci (Marty) Schwartz, and sister-in-law Cindy Whaley. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Michael Whaley..
A private funeral service will be held. David will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House of Shiawassee County, 2005 Copas Rd, Owosso, MI 48867 in loving memory of David Whaley. The family has entrusted arrangement to the Mills Funeral Home, Peters & Murray Chapel, Grand Ledge.

I was so sad to hear of Dave´s passing. I always enjoyed visiting him and Vicki whenever I was with Laci in Michigan. He was such a good man. My condolences to Vicki and his family.

David was a dear fellow and a friend in our one- room schoolhouse in Harrietta. He was always kind and thoughtful, a very caring person. He only came to one of our CHS class reunions at 8 years but I always still felt he was a friend. I am so very sorry for your loss. Peace and Blessings.
