Kenneth Roy Aseltine Jr.

December 10, 1947 – August 13, 2025

Kenneth Roy Aseltine Jr., 77, of Mulliken, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on August 13, 2025.

Kenneth was raised in Grand Ledge, Michigan. After school, Ken answered the call of duty, serving his country with honor and bravery. Ken was a Vietnam Veteran who proudly served in the United States Navy. His experiences in the Navy deeply shaped his character, instilling in him a sense of resilience and appreciation for the freedoms he fought to protect.

Ken worked for years as an over-the-road truck driver alongside his wife, Marilyn, sharing their love for travel and fueling his independent spirit. Together they shared countless miles and adventures. He was also a skilled carpenter and proud of the home he built for him and his wife. As an avid bluegill fisherman, Ken could be found at one of his many favorite local fishing holes in his free time. He would never pass up a chance to go fishing no matter the season. Ken had many hobbies and was a fierce competitor. Known for his sharp wit and strategic mind at the table, he wouldn't miss a poker tournament or a game of cribbage. He was very proud of his collection of golf trophies from local leagues. The casino lights held a special allure for Ken, and he reveled in the thrill of chance and the joy of a well-played hand. Ken loved a trip to the casino.

Ken's presence was a familiar and cherished sight at Swede's Restaurant, where he and Marilyn were beloved by all who knew them.

A devoted husband, he is survived by his wife, Marilyn (Bever) Aseltine with whom he shared a love that was enduring and full of laughter; his son, Tony (Olivia) Reed; grandchildren and great grandchildren, who affectionately knew him as Papaw and his loyal brothers, Bob (Marlene) and Bill (Tay). Ken was predeceased by his parents Kenneth and Margie and a brother, John.

Ken's dog Taffy, his treasured companion, was always by his side; a testament to his loving and loyal nature. He will be remembered for his generosity, loyalty, and quiet dignity.

A private graveside service with full military honors will be held on August 18, 2025, at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Mulliken, Michigan.
