David Williams, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, in Dublin, Georgia. Born on June 3, 1960, to Sam Williams Jr. and the late Willene Ward Williams, David's life was a testament to the values of family, hard work, and community service.
David, affectionately known as "Bear", was a proud graduate of Trinity Christian School. His education laid the foundation for a successful career as the owner and operator of Williams Paving Company, a business that not only served the community but also reflected David's dedication to excellence and his strong work ethic.
A lifelong resident of Laurens County, David was deeply involved in his community. He was an active member of the Laurens County Handicap Sportsman Association, where he combined his love for the outdoors with his commitment to helping others. David's passion for hunting and fishing was only surpassed by the joy he found in sharing these pursuits with friends and family.
David's sense of humor, loving nature, and selflessness were the hallmarks of his personality. He was always the first to offer help to anyone in need, and his generosity touched the lives of many. His ability to light up a room with laughter and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter with his beloved wife, Vicki Silas Williams of East Dublin, and their son, Dusty Williams (Jenna) of Rincon. David's spirit will live on through his cherished grandchildren, Cam and Avery Williams. He is also survived by his brother, Greg Williams (Lisa) of Dublin, and his father, Sam Williams Jr. (Patricia) of Dublin, and his mother-in-law, Anna Sharpe Silas of East Dublin.
In addition to his mother, David was preceded in death by his brother, Allen Williams.
A funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, in the Mary Whitaker Townsend Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Minter Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Donnie Baker will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the service hour on Wednesday at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Knight, Brad Grainger, Jayson Allen, Sam Wynn, Cam Williams, John Ballard, Randall Warnock, and David Warnock.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Laurens County Handicap Sportsman Association, 904 Marley Cannon Rd., Dublin, GA 31021.
