David Earl Wilson of McVeytown went to his heavenly home on July 31, 2025.

Born March 23, 1957 in Lewistown, Pennsylvania. He spent a large portion of his early adult life in Lancaster County before moving back to his roots in Mifflin County.

He is survived by wife Patricia (Helm) Wilson of McVeytown, daughters Sierra Fisher and husband Timothy of Wendell, NC, Molly Gongloff and husband Joseph of Huntingdon, PA, and the light of his life, granddaughter, Gwynevere Gongloff, a sister Linda Hess and husband Joseph of Mount Joy, PA and numerous nieces, a nephew, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Doris (Pearson) Wilson and Charles H. Wilson and niece Heather M. Hess.

Dave grew up farming with his father where he developed a work ethic that would carry him through his life. Over the course of his life Dave worked in numerous professions, working as a driller for Myers Bro's Wells, set-up at AMP electronics, machinist at Innovative Designs, INC, butcher at Kline's Market, many years as a laborer at Poole Anderson Construction and most recently Antares Site Work, LLC. Priding himself in exceeding quality standards and an unwavering work ethic that he passed down to his family.

Dave was an avid outdoorsman and waterfowl hunter. He was an active member of the Atkinson Mills Sportsmen Club. He most often could be found in the woods or on the river on a crisp weekend morning.

During Dave's short battle with cancer, the community he built rallied around him and his family. His family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to all the friends and family that were there to lend a helping hand, visit with him, and provide support during this time. The family would also like to thank his medical and care teams that helped navigate his late-stage diagnosis.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Atkinson Mills Sportsmen Club (55 Sportsmen Club Lane, McVeytown, PA 17051) from 3:00 - 6:00 pm. All who knew and loved him are invited to attend!
