In Loving Memory of David Lee Wimsett, Jr.
David Lee Wimsett, Jr., age 63, of Calvin, LA, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024, in Winnfield, LA. He was born on Monday, July 11, 1960, in North Little Rock, AR, to the late David Lee Wimsett, Sr., and Dorothy Lee Smith Wimsett Smithers. David was preceded in death by his father, mother, infant brother (David Lee Wimsett), and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
He is survived by loved ones who will continue to cherish his memory: sisters DeRhonda Lee Adkins of Mustang, OK, Dianna Lee Grow (Mark) of Moore, OK, and Denise Pyle (Ron) of Norman, OK; the love of his life Mary (his Mey) Harford and step-son Jacob Harford of Calvin, LA. David leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, step family and friends who will miss him dearly.
David worked as a CNA for 30 years at Griffin Memorial Hospital - Oklahoma Mental Health Center. He had a passion for various aspects of life, one of them being his love for the online game Everquest, where he was affectionately known as Farinxxx. He was an avid reader who found solace in the pages of fantasy novels, immersing himself in their worlds. David was also accomplished in Taekwondo, earning and maintaining a black belt for many years, which led him to visit South Korea.
A loving life partner to Mary, a caring father to Jacob, and a beloved brother to DeRhonda, Dianna, and Denise, David will be remembered for his calm and sweet demeanor. He never raised his voice, leaving a lasting impression on those who knew him.
