David Michael Winebrenner, Sr., 79, of Louisville, entered Eternal Life on Thursday, July 3, 2025.
David was born in Louisville to the late Earl George Winebrenner, Sr. and Eileen Willinghurst Winebrenner and graduated from St. Xavier High School in 1964 and was a veteran of the United States Army.
After graduating, he worked with his father and brother building banks before starting a long career as an electrician. He began as the co-owner of W&M Electric and then began working for Delbert Electric, until starting his job as an Electrical Senior Project Inspector at the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport. David worked there for 30 years, retiring on September 1, 2021.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ann Klein-Kracht and Elizabeth Clines; and brother, Earl Winebrenner, Jr.
Carrying on David's legacy are his wife of 33 years, Shirley Winebrenner; son, David Michael Winebrenner, Jr. (Hope); daughter, Lisa Greene; step-daughters, Darlene Hatcher (Michael), April Trigg (Chris), and Elizabeth Mantooth; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; sister, Kathy DeMar (Joe); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for David will be from 2-8PM on Wednesday, July 9 at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road. Funeral service will be at 11AM on Thursday, July 10 at the funeral home.
