David graduated from Gates Chili High School in 1966. After graduation, David married and started a family with his high school sweetheart, Eileen, and started his railroad career at B & O Railroad. He came of age in the 1950s. He made life-long friends. From those early years grew a fierce and abiding love of music-not just one genre, but all of it. Music was something he listened to, collected, talked about, and lived with. It played in the background of his days and at the center of his joys, and later in life it became a bridge he gladly shared with his children and grandchildren. David loved his many pets deeply – and they found the perfect home with him. He loved great movies and could settle in happily for the classics like Gunsmoke. He was an avid reader from an early age. Baseball held a special place in his heart, especially the Atlanta Braves, a loyalty worn with pride and patience. Outdoors, he was most at home-fishing, hunting, and camping with his family and buddies. These weren't just hobbies; they were ways he connected to the people he loved. He appreciated good meals and a well-earned beer. He was deeply devoted to his wife, proudly and faithfully showing up to every gig her band played, her biggest fan in every room. That love was visible, steady, and joyful. As a father, he invested fully in his children's futures, making sacrifices so they could attend private schools and college. In his later years, his greatest joy came from sharing-introducing his grandchildren to the music he loved, the outdoors that had shaped him, and the simple pleasures that had given his life such richness. He leaves behind a legacy of loyalty, generosity, and love-a life well lived, well shared, and deeply felt by all who knew him.
