David Wynn was born November 27th,1955 in Plainfield, NJ to the late Howard F. Sr and Vivian Wynn. He departed this life suddenly on August 15th, 2024.
David was the 3rd child born to this union, but acted like he was the eldest by always bossing everyone around. That bossiness didn't just stop with family but carried over to friends as well. He took great pleasure in telling folks what they should be doing.
David really loved the city of Plainfield. He was born, raised, attended the public school systems, lived there with his family, and worked there.
While David was at Plainfield High, he excelled in the sports of Basketball and Baseball. He was able to share that love for those sports with his son, Marcus and grandson, Jasiah. After graduating, he attended Essex County College where he included the game of Chess as part of his love for sports. As he got older, he added golf and bowling to that list. He thought that he was a "Pro" in both of them. Talked a lot of trash on the course and on the lanes.
Dave or Crockett as he was affectionately known, held various jobs throughout his life. To name just a few: Avis, Newark Airport, PepsiCo, CO-Owner of T.C. Cycles, but his pride, was being the Superintendent of Parks and Recreation for the City of Plainfield. He held this position for over 19 years.
He knew the importance of having a safe and fun place for the kids of this town. He ensured that the kids had many programs to keep them busy.
Dave had a zest for life. He loved his Raiders Football team and most of his days were filled with golfing (he thought he was the best player on the course) bowling (couldn't match him there either) or in his backyard with a good cigar. The trash talk amongst his friends was always next level. If you were close to Dave, you were lucky to have gotten the 'NNN' during a conversation. (IYKYK, LOL)
Dave married his childhood sweetheart, Renae on December 17th, 1977. From this union 2 children were born: Marcus David and Allyce Deenae.
Dave had a very strong relationship with his grandson Jasiah. He went to his games on a regular. Not sure the coaches appreciated the commentary from the stands but Jasiah was his pride and joy.
Dave also had a very close relationship with his 5 year old great niece/granddaughter Baileigh- They had a very playful banter between them. Dave was teaching her various jokes and listening to her trying to repeat them was funny. The one that sticks out the most was: Do you know Jo? Jo who?JO Momma. The two of them would bust out laughing. A real belly laugh.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents: Howard F. Sr and Vivian Wynn, and a brother Howard F. Wynn Jr.
Left to cherish his memories are: his wife of 46 years, Drema Renae, his loving children, Marcus D. Wynn and Allyce D. Wynn; a grandson Jasiah D. Wynn, two brothers: Ronald Wynn and Shannon Wynn, Daughter/Niece Tjameika (Jhaval) Randolph, Granddaughter/Great Niece Baileigh S. Randolph. Mother in law Gertrude Mclaurin, Sisters in law: Veronica Bivins, Karen Younger, Darlene McCray, Sharon Younger, Andrea Robinson, Valerie Robinson, Tracey Daniels-Wynn, Linda Wynn. Brothers in law: Kevin (Paula) Robinson, Robert L. Robinson, Gregory Robinson along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and very close friends.
