Dawn Elaine Aitken (McBride), a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, in her hometown of Flint, Michigan. Born on February 16, 1947, also in Flint, Dawn's life was a testament to her loving, thoughtful, and friendly nature, which touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Dawn's journey began as the daughter of the late Donald and Shirley (Landis) Miller, and she grew up alongside her devoted siblings, Michelle Davies and Don (Jane) Miller. Her early years were filled with music and performance, as she graced many with her beautiful voice, piano skills, and participation in drama club. These passions remained a cornerstone of her life, bringing joy to many.

Dawn met and later married the love of her life, John Aitken on April 1, 1995, in Flint, MI. Dawn's pride and joy: Sean (Kelly) McBride, Kristen (Chris) Clarambeau, and Chad McBride. Dawn's role as a grandmother to Hunter, Cami (Bryan), Chloe, Harrison, and Karlee was one she cherished deeply, and she was eagerly anticipating the birth of her first great-grandchild.

Professionally, Dawn was the proud owner of Country Calico Florist, where she combined her entrepreneurial spirit with her commitment to the Burton and Flint communities. Her creativity and love for crafts led her to participate in numerous craft shows, where she showcased her homemade jewelry and home decor. Dawn also found joy in painting, capturing the stunning sunsets on Round Lake, and contributing to her community through her active involvement in the Junior League of Flint and her children's school activities.

Upon retirement, Dawn and John embarked on a remarkable journey, exploring 48 states together, often riding their Gold Wing motorcycle. These travels were among the many adventures they shared, creating a lifetime of memories.

Dawn's legacy is one of love, family, and faith. She lived her life with an open heart, always ready to lend a hand or share a moment of kindness. Her presence was a warm light to her family and friends, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

"I know not when the Lord may come, at night or noon-day fair, nor if I'll Walk the vale with him, or meet him in the air. But I know whom I have be-lieved-ed and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I've committed unto him against that day".

Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial will take place in Ludington. Arrangements entrusted to Jansen Family Funeral Home – Columbiaville. Share memories, condolences, and pictures with the family at www.jansenfuneralhome.com.
