Dawn M Dunbar, age 66, of Platteville, WI passed away on 3/3/25 at Agrace Inpatient Hospice from lung cancer. She was born Nov 9th, 1958 the daughter of Ron and Mary June Rewey. She graduated from Platteville High School and earned her nursing degree from Southwest Technical College. She worked as a nurse for over 40 years.
Dawn enjoyed many years of camping, her favorite spot was in Potosi, along the Mississippi River. She enjoyed camping with her parents and good friends, Barb and Mike Canon. They spent many hours sitting by "The River". She enjoyed traveling - her favorite destinations were Hawaii and Branson. She was recently able to share the excitement of Branson and Silver Dollar City with her grown children and grandchildren. Dawn enjoyed gathering with friends and family and was always volunteering to bring an assortment of foods and dips - she never came to a gathering empty handed!
Dawn is preceded in death by her father, Ron Rewey. She is survived by her mother, Mary June Rewey, brother Brian (Jackie) Rewey, ex-husband Randy Dunbar and children Jamie (Zach) Rogers and Jenny (Peter) Pleva. She has 3 grandchildren - Carlyn and Amaris Rogers and Kailey Pleva.
Throughout her recent health issues, Dawn had several friends and family who offered their support and loving care - in particular Jackie, Brian, Pauleen and Wanita. The family appreciates the wonderful care and connection she had with her hospice nurse (Olivia) and for Agrace inpatient hospice at the end of her life.
Funeral services will be at Noon on Monday, March 10, 2025 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory in Platteville, WI. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Pastor Tammy Clausen will officiate. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Platteville, WI. Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com.
