Dean Mark Anderson, 71, Fishers, IN passed away April 8, 2025. He was born in Valparaiso, IN to Edward Walsh Anderson and Alice H. (Roeske) Anderson.
He graduated from Valparaiso High School and Indiana University earning a degree in Public and Environmental Affairs. Dean later went on to complete a Tool and Die Maker apprenticeship.
Dean had a strong appreciation for nature and protecting the environment. He was an avid car enthusiast. He enjoyed volunteering and being with his friends at Church of the Living Water in Indianapolis. Above all, Dean was a loving and committed family man with a resilient spirit persevering through multiple health challenges. Despite the setbacks, Dean continued living life, surviving 22 years after receiving a heart transplant.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Marcia (Alexander) Anderson, children Joseph (Emylie), David (Paris), Benjamin (Audrey), grandchildren Jacob, Noah, Alba, Evelyn, Isabell, and siblings Lloyd Anderson (Joyce), John Anderson (Barbara), Cindy Keckeissen.
The Anderson family would like to thank the Ascension St. Vincent Cardiac Transplant Team for the many years of care and support.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 26th, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis. A memorial service will begin there at 11:00 AM. Lunch to be served after for the family. Online condolences may be shared at www.flannerbuchanan.com.
