Deann Louise Vice

Deann Louise Durham Vice, resident of Omega Bay, left us too soon on April 27, 2025 at the age of 66. She was born April 8, 1959 in Pasadena, Texas. Raised in Pasadena, she graduated from Sam Rayburn High School in 1977. She was employed by Oshman's, Brown & Root, a contractor at Nasa, Stolt-Nielsen, and Odfjell. She actually met her future husband, David, while working at Brown & Root. He was always running late, and Deann was the timekeeper at the job. He would ask her to "slide him some time" which she did. They married two months after they met.
Deann is preceded in death by her father, Raymond Durham, and her husband of 43 years, David Vice. She is survived by her mother, Barbara Durham, her son, Chad Vice, and his wife, Danielle, and her daughter, Michelle Antonopoulos, and her husband, Harry. She was blessed with four wonderful grandchildren: Addison Vice, Chase Vice, Chris Antonopoulos, and Alessandra Antonopoulos. She is also survived by sisters and brothers: Debbie Durham Anderson and husband, Don; Duane Durham; Dwight Durham and wife, Julie; and Darina Buell and husband, Bruce, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
Deann enjoyed having a good time with family and friends and especially loved being at the beach or around water. She and David loved the water so much that they moved to Omega Bay in 2002. They had a boat, and Deann loved to go out for a nice ride or a fishing trip. They also had a special "spot" that was often very generous with some trout and redfish.
She loved to laugh and make everyone else laugh. There was always a card game going when she was around. Deann also loved the outdoors. She spent a lot of time sitting on her porch either reading or just looking out over the water at beautiful sunsets. Deann was definitely a beach girl who always had a beautiful tan.
Even though she had suffered a stroke and some seizures in the past three years, she was doing well enough to live on her own and enjoyed living in the home on the water which she loved. Our Lord took her peacefully in her sleep.
