Beth Renee Aston passed away on April 4, 2025. Born on March 20, 1962, in Pasadena, Texas, Beth brought joy, laughter, and light to all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Donald Wayne Taylor and Frances Kay Taylor.
Beth was a devoted mother to her two children, daughter, Shara Beth Aston Schlitzberger, husband Tommy Lawrence Schlitzberger JR and son, Gary Dale Aston Jr., and wife Jennifer Ann Aston. She was a proud and loving Nana to her seven cherished grandchildren: Kylee Beth Crites, Kenzie Grace Crites, Mila Rose Aston, Nicholette Bliss Navarro, Madalyn Faith Schlitzberger, Alexis Marie Allison and Tyler James Allison.
She went to Sam Rayburn High School and began her journey of motherhood and family life soon after. She resided in Deer Park and Pasadena, Texas, while raising her children, later moving to Austin where she found great peace and happiness living near Lake Travis. Her final years were spent in Pearland, Texas.
As a child, Beth was full of life-always outdoors, swimming, and spending time with cousins. She loved babysitting and had a magical way with children. She was the "fun babysitter," building tents, playing for hours, and creating laughter with her playful spirit. Her silly faces, made-up accents, funny voices, and harmless prank calls were a signature part of who she was-someone who could bring joy to anyone, anywhere.
Beth had a radiant smile that could light up any room, and a heart that made everyone feel seen, heard, and loved. She found peace near the water-whether at the Frio River, by the pool, or kayaking on Lake Travis. Her blow-up kayak, always in her trunk, symbolized her adventurous and spontaneous spirit.
Her greatest joy in life was Mom to Shara and Dale and being Nana to her grandchildren. She was a stay-at-home mom and valued taking her children to school, spending time playing with her children and welcoming their friends to their home. Beth was the mom who chaperoned many field trips and went to the school parties for Shara and Dale when they were little. As Nana, she loved painting, coloring, swimming, and playing with her grandchildren. She had an incredible gift for connecting with children and making each one feel uniquely special and cherished.
In 2002, Beth was diagnosed with meningitis and encephalitis and faced many difficult health challenges over the years with resilience. Through it all, her love for her family and her joyful, silly spirit remained unshaken.
Beth will be remembered for her laughter, her kindness and the many lives she touched with her vibrant soul. She will be dearly missed, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 12, 2025 in the chapel of Deer Park Funeral Directors. Family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time.
