Deanna Buel

Deanna Buel, 83, of Van Meter, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024 at her home.
Deanna was born on April 28, 1940 to Charley and Betty (Rhine) Minshall. She was a graduate from Van Meter High School. Deanna stayed at home most of her life to take care of her three children, RaAnna, Dena, and Charles. She worked for a period of time at Parker Brothers High Line, Coast To Coast Hardware, and sold Avon products.
Deanna loved to watch tv and never missed the Sunday NASCAR race. She enjoyed going to the dirt track and watching the stock car racing as well. In her younger days, she liked to go out bowling at the local alley. She loved to make Christmas candy around the holidays and her kids are skilled candy makers because of this. During her time with Curt, she enjoyed going out on the road with him as he drove semi over the road. Lastly, Deanna loved her grandkids and great grandkids and always enjoyed their visits and company.
Deanna is survived by her three children, RaAnna (Lawrence) Withrow of Perry, Dena (Donnie) Smith of Perry, and Charles (Karen) Buel of Booneville; brother, Eugene Minshall; sister, Nancy (Frank) Ross; 11 grandchildren; and 29 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Buel; her significant other, Curt Bruins; parents, Charley and Betty; and sisters, Linda Lemon and Betty Lou Bragg.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Adel Chapel with visitation taking place one hour prior beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the Van Meter Cemetery.
