Dearl G. Evans, 89, of Seale, AL passed away Friday afternoon, February 23, 2024, at Piedmont Hospital-Northside in Columbus, GA.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm EST on Thursday, February 29, 2024, in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. David Wilson officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am EST on Thursday until funeral hour at the funeral home.
Mr. Evans was born April 5, 1934, in Columbus, GA, son of the late James Paul Evans and Eva Nora Paulk Evans. He was employed by Fieldcrest Mills in Columbus, GA for 30 plus years of service and retired as a supervisor. He served our country and a Veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with all his family, and loved watching the Alabama Crimson Tide cheering them on each football season. He was a Christian by faith.
Other than his parents, He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years who just recently passed this month on February 15, 2024, and two siblings, Paul Eugene Evans, and Laqueta Joy Evans Spencer.
Survivors include his two daughters, Judy Bell (Tom) and Maureen Newman (Jerry); one son, James “Bubba” Evans (Lori); two grandsons, Kyle Shavers and Brad Evans (Jamie); three precious great-grandchildren, Madison Evans, Mason Evans and Reed Evans; nieces, nephews and friends.
Flowers will be accepted, or the family asks that donations be made in his memory to your favorite animal rescue shelter.
