Debora Ann "Debbie" Turpin Hoggan

Our loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Debora "Debbie" Hoggan, was called home on February 21, 2023.
She was born on February 2, 1951 in Ogden, the daughter of Clyde Wilford and Joyce Ethlind Christensen Turpin. She was very proud of her Danish heritage. She graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1969 and enjoyed singing in the choir and was in the musical "Brigadoon". She was an excellent artist and won awards for her artwork in high school.
She married James "Jim" Hoggan on April 25, 1973 in the Salt Lake Temple and was sealed by Elder Hartman Rector Jr. Jim and Debbie are newlyweds just coming up on their first 50-year anniversary. Their union was blessed with six children. Her family has always treated her like a queen.
Debbie and Jim loved to dance. They are members of the Rushton Heights Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Debbie loved the Lord and studying her scriptures.
Debbie loved star gazing and volcanos. She was an avid reader and read 5 books a week. She loved clowning and was Raggedy Ann while Jim was Raggedy Andy. She taught Lamaze childbirth classes for 5 years. She loved cooking and had an incredible collection of over 5000 recipes. Debbie loved butterflies and prisms. She loved collecting dolls and sewing doll clothing. She liked shopping at thrift stores. She loved camping with her family. She liked going to native American pow wows. Debbie loved caring for animals and had many special dogs, guinea pigs.
She is survived by her husband, Jim, six children, Troy (Suzie) Hoggan, Heidi (Dave) Krieve, Heather Unkena, Shay Hoggan, Mandy Hoggan, Ryan (Christine) Hoggan, 16 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, a brother, John (Barbara) Turpin.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Rosie Foote.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at the Rushton Heights Ward, 1550 Rushton Street, Ogden, Utah with a viewing prior from 9:00 to 10:10 a.m.
Interment, Myers Evergreen Memorial Park.
