Deborah Gaye Burdett Anderson, 75, passed away peacefully at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center on August 16, 2023.
Funeral Services are 2:00 pm Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Center Terrace Baptist Church with burial to follow at Canton City Cemetery. Visitation will be after 12 noon at Center Terrance Church.
Deborah was born in Canton, MS on April 19, 1948 to Paul Albert and Minnie Lee "M.L." Chesnut Burdett. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert Edward Anderson, Jr. and were happily married for 56 years.
Deborah was a woman of remarkable strength, unwavering love, and boundless kindness. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother/great grandmother, sister, aunt and a dear friend to many. Her contagious laugh and warm smile throughout her life touched the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Deborah was more lovingly known to her sun shines as "Gran". Family was at the core of Deborah's life. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren creating unforgettable memories that will be cherished for generations to come.
In addition to her nurturing spirit, Deborah was known for her resilience and unwavering faith. She faced life's challenges with grace and determination, proving that strength is not only measured by physical might, but by the courage to persevere in the face of adversity. No matter what she faced she would always remind her family "God is Good"
She was survived by her husband Robert Anderson, Jr., her sons Lance Anderson (Kathy) and Bert Anderson (Melanie), and one sister Pauline Watkins. She leaves behind four grandchildren Kaley Reed (Allen), Hannah Grace Bowman (Austin), Lauren Sylvester (Hunter) and Hayden Anderson (Maci); three great grandchildren Bo Allen, Baylor, and Blake as well as many special nephews and nieces.
Deborah is preceded in death by her parents, sister Bettye Ann Burdett Hutton, and nephew Michael Hutton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to: Center Terrace Baptist Church, 605 East Peace St, Canton, MS 39046 or Canton-Madison County Historical Society, P.O. Box 232 Canton, MS 39046.
Pallbearers will be Hayden Anderson, Allen Reed, Austin Bowman, Hunter Sylvester, Bart Prather and Terry Ellis.
